Curious anyone doing NaNoWriMo?

I'm just curious if anyone is doing NaNoWriMo? Have you done it? What's it like? Is it worth the effort?

Spreading, like a slow virus...

So, lately I have been reading a few books on the craft of writing. I find a certain amount of inspiration and useful information in them. Not enough apparently to get my butt in front of a keyboard but my paper journal practice continues and is beneficial for me. I was just on another social networking site and was reading someone's attempt at a short story. Suddenly the section on dialogue from The First Five Pages: A Writer's Guide to Staying Out of the Rejection Continue

Quick! Someone squeeze the jelly from my eyes!

Work has been horrendous and I am not having any fun. Today is my 7th anniversary in this job where I had high hopes of shuffling around and getting into creative content. No such luck despite the organization's lip service to the contrary. Strengthening Human Capital my ass.

You do need to be insane to be a writer.

That's ok though, there is enough sanity in this world.

Thanks for the blog comment.

I'm intrigued that you write scripts for radio. I'm a HUGE Keillor fan AND I have done some theater myself. While my friends all want me to write a novel, I don't think I have that skill set. Rather, I have a play or two in my head that I'm tossing around. It's thought-provoking that you're doing radio theater.
