A Children of Dune fan. That whole first trilogy is superb.
I recommend reading 'Sabres of Paradise' by Lesley Blanch, Herbert used many of the ideas from this book for the Fremen and is itself a riveting read on an otherwise forgotten period of history

Oh, and that book has a lot of quotes from Herbert on his ideas and philosophy. I think you'll find it an interesting perspective on his work.

Oh, you like Children of Dune, do you? You may not know, but Tim O'Reilly did an in-depth book on Frank Herbert right after Children of Dune came out. The book mainly talks about Herbert's ideas/recurring theme on how to expand human potential, usually through extreme pressure forcing people to evolve or die.

The book is online as a free text, here:

Enjoy. =)
